How does the glass cutting calculator work?
It lays out panes in full-width rows so every score line runs edge to edge across the sheet — exactly how glass cutters work. Panes are placed largest first for tight packing, and the result tells you how many stock sheets you need.
Should I allow pane rotation?
Keep rotation off for coated, tinted, patterned or tempered glass where orientation matters, and for panes whose width/height must match the finished opening. Enable it only for plain clear glass where a 90° turn is acceptable.
Does the calculator handle glass thickness?
Thickness does not affect the layout — only the cutting order in the workshop. Cut all panes of one thickness per plan, and sequence cuts so the last cuts on a sheet are the smallest panes.
